Free Height Permission Given to Property Developers by LDA
Lahore: According to January 12 news reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has presented a draft of the current legislation permitting property developers to construct multistory structures to stimulate business in Lahore. The proposal proposes revisions to the regulations governing the “region development project.”

Once enacted, developers would be permitted to construct 300-foot-tall structures in certain locations of Lahore. The approval of the Civil Aviation Administration will be necessary for this purpose. The draft suggests permitting the erection of 300-foot-tall skyscrapers on highways wider than 60 feet.

The LDA has decided to construct a scrutiny committee that will refer area development cases to the governing body, according to the news outlet. The LDA’s general director will preside over the committee. Members will include officials from the LDA Town Planning, Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency, Water and Sanitation Agency, and Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
