Funeral prayers of Pakistan Army officer Major Adeel Zaman, who embraced martyrdom during a security operation in Bajaur, were offered at Peshawar Garrison on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the funeral prayer was attended by Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Interior Minister, Corps Commander Peshawar, senior military officials, and a large number of civilians.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid a heartfelt tribute to Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, saying that the martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation and their sacrifices will always be remembered. He prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
ISPR said that Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed will be laid to rest with full military honours in Dera Ismail Khan.
Later, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar, where he met officers and soldiers injured during the same operation. He praised their bravery, resilience, and professional commitment and expressed best wishes for their speedy recovery.
According to ISPR, the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully determined to eliminate terrorism from the country. The statement added that the sacrifices of martyrs and the courage of wounded soldiers continue to strengthen the resolve of the nation and the armed forces.
