11 July, Islamabad (IANS) The Chairperson of the Pakistani Prime Minister’s task committee on Gandhara tourism said that Pakistan wants to reflect its softer image to the world by boosting Gandhara tourism, and in this connection, a three-day event is being launched here from July 11.

Scholars and Buddhist leaders from many nations will speak at the international Gandhara symposium with the theme “Cultural Diplomacy Reviving Gandhara Civilization and Buddhist Heritage in Pakistan,” according to the conference’s organiser Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.

The rich heritage of the Gandhara civilization in Pakistan, which needs to be protected and promoted, according to Vankwani, who was speaking to the media on Monday, the day before the event.
The official went on to say that, in addition to enhancing the country’s favourable reputation, the promotion of Gandhara tourism will boost economic activity and bring in foreign currency.
