Gas Bills Set to Skyrocket as OGRA Notifies New Gas Prices
Effective November 1, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced the new natural gas sale prices.
In accordance with OGRA Ordinance, 2002 sections 7(1), 8(3), and 21(2)(h), the federal government notified OGRA of the updated category-wise natural gas sale prices.

The exclusive authority to determine sale prices of natural gas for various groups of consumers, taking into account sectoral policies and socioeconomic agendas, as well as adjusting cross-subsidy and Gas Development Surcharge, rests with the federal government.
In compliance with federal policy standards, OGRA has announced natural gas selling prices that will take effect on November 1, 2023. The updated costs are listed below:
Fixed Monthly Charges
It is important to note that domestic consumers falling into the protected category will pay a fixed monthly fee of Rs. 400. Consumers in the non-protected category will pay a fixed monthly fee of Rs. 1,000 up to 1.5 hm3, and those who consume more than 1.5 hm3 will pay a monthly fee of Rs. 2,000 per month.
