The German Consulate in Karachi has suspended all visa services indefinitely due to what it described as “unavoidable circumstances.” The announcement was made through an official notification on Monday, leaving many applicants uncertain about their travel plans to Germany.
According to the statement, all types of visa services, including work, study, tourism, and family visit visas, have been put on hold until further notice. This sudden suspension has affected a large number of individuals who were preparing for travel or had upcoming appointments.
However, the consulate clarified that services for citizens of the European Union (EU) will continue as usual and will not be affected by this change.
The consulate did not provide any more details about the reason behind the decision or when the visa services might resume. People who had already applied or were planning to apply are now waiting for updates and hoping for a quick resolution.
Travel agents and students in particular have expressed concern, as many rely on timely visa processing to meet university deadlines or job commitments abroad. The German embassy in Islamabad has not yet issued any similar notice, and it remains to be seen whether this suspension will affect other regions in Pakistan.
