Germany to Provide 7.5Mn Euros to Textile Industry of Pakistan
Recently, an agreement was reached between the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Germany, to support two projects, one of which focuses on raising labour, social, and environmental standards in Pakistan’s textile industry.

This agreement is an implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was earlier signed on December 23, 2020, between the Economic Affairs Division of Pakistan and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The two projects described above, however, will also be supported by the German government.
Also, the Federal Republic of Germany would contribute up to 7.5 million euros under this agreement, and this German contribution would be made for a three-year period.
