A joint operation by police and Pakistan Rangers in the riverine Kacha area along the Sindh-Punjab border entered its sixth day, as security forces intensified action against armed criminal gangs.
Police confirmed that two notorious robbers were killed during the operation, including Chhalu Bakarani, a highly wanted criminal carrying a head money of five million rupees. Chhalu Bakarani was described as the leader of the Bakarani gang and a close associate of Tanveer Andhar, one of the most feared criminals operating in the region. He was wanted by police in both Sindh and Punjab in multiple cases, including the murder of police personnel, and had long been considered a symbol of fear for residents on both sides of the border.
In a separate development during the same operation, Abdullah Dashti, a key member of the Chhotu gang, was killed in a drone strike. Police said Abdullah Dashti held a leadership role within the gang and was involved in several serious crimes, making him a high-value target for law enforcement agencies.
According to police officials, a total of nine robbers have been killed so far since the start of the operation. Security forces said the action will continue without pause in the Kacha Karachi and Kacha Rajwani areas until all remaining criminals are eliminated.
The Kacha region, known for its difficult terrain and riverine forests, has long been used by armed gangs as a hideout. Authorities say drone surveillance and coordinated ground operations are now playing a key role in dismantling these criminal networks and restoring law and order in the border areas.
