Actor Gohar Rasheed has candidly shared his journey with wife Kubra Khan, revealing that he was the first to fall in love — but faced rejection before ultimately winning her heart.
In a recent interview, the actor spoke about how marriage has transformed his life, saying his personality has “improved by 200 percent” since tying the knot. He credited Kubra for the positive change and added that her life too has taken a turn for the better.
Preparing for marriage
Rasheed emphasized the need for parents to educate their children — particularly sons — about the responsibilities of married life.
“Just like parents guide children about education and health, they should also prepare them for marriage. It should never be treated as a taboo subject.”
He advised people to only marry once they’ve achieved personal and professional stability, warning that rushing into marriage could cause frustration and misplaced blame.
Why he married at 40
The actor, who wed Kubra at the age of 40, said readiness comes with wisdom, not age.
“Some people are mature by 30, but I felt ready only at 40. Marriage can happen at any age,” he explained.
Kubra’s first “no” and final “yes”
In a heartfelt revelation, Gohar admitted that his first proposal to Kubra was rejected. Though the refusal hurt, he understood her reasons.
“She’s beautiful, and rejection from her stings even more. But when I proposed the second time, she accepted.”
The couple tied the knot in February 2025 in Saudi Arabia, in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends.
