Gold prices rose sharply in both international and local markets on Monday, rebounding after a slight decline in the previous session.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs2,600 per tola, taking it to Rs454,862. The rise followed an upward trend in global bullion prices, supported by steady investor demand.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold went up by Rs2,229 to Rs389,970. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold gained Rs2,043, reaching Rs357,485, APSGJA data showed.
In the international market, gold prices climbed by $26 per ounce to settle at $4,325. Analysts attribute the increase to ongoing global economic uncertainty and fluctuations in currency markets, which continue to drive demand for safe-haven assets.
Silver prices also moved higher. The price of 24-karat silver rose by Rs68 per tola to Rs6,532, while the price of 10 grams increased by Rs59 to Rs5,600.
