The All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) finally released the gold prices on Tuesday, following a nearly month-long hiatus.
The price of 24 carats of gold was Rs. 199,500 per tola, while the price of 10 kilos was Rs. 171,039 at the close of business today, according to figures issued by the APSGJA.
The prices were last released by the organization on September 12, when 24 carats of gold cost Rs. 215,000 per tola and 10 kilos cost Rs. 184,585. This indicates that the price of gold has decreased by Rs. 15,500 per tola during the rate suspension period.

It is important to note that following a crackdown by law enforcement on tax fraud and smuggling, gold traders ceased to issue rates. The US dollar significantly declined in value in relation to the Pakistani rupee as a result of the crackdown, and in September, the rupee emerged as the world’s best-performing currency.
Seeing how the market acts now that dealers have once again refrained from issuing rates will be interesting to see. The price of gold has risen recently, according to unofficial prices, after dropping as low as Rs. 188,000 per tola the previous week.
As of 05:06 GMT on the global gold market, spot gold was trading at $1,860.21, and US gold futures were up 0.5 per cent at $1,874.10.
