Kuwait has ended a 19-year visa ban on Pakistani citizens. Now, people from Pakistan can apply for work, family, business, tourist, and visit visas, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis announced on Monday.
Mustafa Malik, a spokesperson from the ministry, said this is a big moment for both countries. “It opens many doors for jobs, business, and tourism,” he said.
Kuwait stopped giving visas to Pakistanis almost 20 years ago due to administrative reasons. Now, the ban has been lifted, and many skilled Pakistani workers can apply for jobs again. This will also help Pakistan by bringing in foreign money.
Malik also said that the Kuwaiti Dinar is the strongest currency in the world — one dinar is worth about 914 Pakistani Rupees. So, working in Kuwait can be very good for Pakistani families.
Under the new policy, Pakistanis can now apply for:
- Work visas
- Family visit visas
- Business visas
- Tourist visas
All visa applications will be done through an online system, which makes the process faster and easier. Some visas could be approved in as little as one minute, or up to 24 hours, depending on the type.
“This is great news for Pakistani families and will also help the country’s economy,” Malik said
