Google’s Think Apps 2023 Helps 500 Pakistanis Developers Grow
The first and largest offline app and game conference, Think Apps, was hosted by Google in Lahore, Pakistan. Over 500 developers from 136 companies grew their Pakistani-made apps during the event and released them to the public.
The occasion follows Think Games and Gaming Growth Lab, both of which were conducted in Pakistan for the first time last year. Through these occasions, Google collaborated with more than 1,600 developers and grew 50 studios for early-stage video games to compete on a global scale.

Through community-led initiatives like Cloud Seekho S5 and Android Seekho S2, Google also assisted over 5,000 Cloud developers and over 3,000 Android developers in upgrading their skills.
The global gaming and app business is seeing a significant entry from Pakistan. Over time, Pakistan’s position in the global app market has dramatically improved; in terms of app downloads, Pakistani developers will move up to 16th place in 2023 from 27th in 2018.
The astounding 4 billion downloads of Pakistani-developed apps in 2022 represent a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30% from 2018 to 2020. Only in 2022 did a total of 65 apps from 24 local developers rank among the top 10 on the Play Store and App Store in the gaming and app categories.
Google is increasing its support for the apps business in Pakistan through Think Apps, which is aimed to offer in-depth information and trends from international experts to local developers, in order to assist Pakistani studios and developers better harness digital prospects. The curriculum is based on three distinct focus areas:
