Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of overseas Pakistanis, emphasizing that resolving their issues is a top priority. Chairing a special meeting focused on matters related to overseas Pakistanis, the prime minister stated that the government is actively working to enhance facilities and provide more investment opportunities tailored to the expertise of Pakistanis living abroad.
Acknowledging their significant contributions, the prime minister highlighted that overseas Pakistanis serve as ambassadors of the country and have consistently demonstrated their dedication and love for Pakistan. He noted the strong turnout at the recent overseas convention as a reflection of their trust in the government’s policies.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the hard work and achievements of expatriates in various professional fields, including medicine, education, engineering, and consultancy. He emphasized that these individuals have earned a reputable name for themselves and for Pakistan through their legitimate efforts across the globe.
In recognition of their valuable services, the government has recently introduced a substantial incentives package aimed at overseas Pakistanis. Furthermore, the prime minister announced that civil awards would be conferred on those who have excelled in their respective fields and on individuals who have contributed the highest remittances through the State Bank of Pakistan.
During the meeting, officials provided an update on the implementation of the government’s announced facilities and discussed strategies to ensure their effective execution. Key attendees included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir, federal ministers, and other senior officials.
