PM Shehbaz Sharif announced a significant reduction in fuel prices late Friday night, offering relief to consumers across the country.
According to the announcement, petrol prices have been cut by Rs. 12 per litre, bringing the new rate down from Rs. 378 to Rs. 366 per litre. High-speed diesel has also seen a reduction, with the new price set at Rs. 385 per litre starting Saturday.
This move comes shortly after a sharp increase in fuel prices last week, when the government raised petrol by Rs. 137.24 per litre and diesel by Rs. 184.49 per litre. Those hikes had pushed petrol prices up to Rs. 458 per litre and diesel to Rs. 520.35 per litre, causing widespread concern among the public.
Later, the government revised the rates and reduced petrol prices by Rs. 80 per litre, bringing it down to Rs. 378 before the latest cut.
The latest reduction is expected to provide some relief to citizens already dealing with rising living costs, although fuel prices remain a key concern for many.
