Government Declares Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays
The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) scheduled holidays from May 10 to 15 with a “clear goal of decreasing national mobility” in an effort to contain a further rise in the already growing new coronavirus cases during the impending Eid-ul-Fitr.

The “stay home stay safe plan” was also announced for mobility restriction from May 8 to May 16, which included the Eid holidays, by the nation’s central decision-making body.
The NCOC also forbade mehndi, jewelry/ornaments, and apparel vendors at Chandrat bazaars.
The ministry added that during the aforementioned time, travel nodes leading to the tourist destinations, particularly the picturesque valleys of Murree, Swat, and northern Gilgit-Baltistan, which draw hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the nation during Eid holidays, will also stay closed.

During the Eid holidays, all inter-provincial and inter-city travel will be completely prohibited, with the exception of Gilgit-Baltistan citizens who may travel to their hometowns.
The three-day celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, which celebrates the conclusion of the holy month of Ramazan during which the faithful fast for the majority of the day, is typically marked by opulent daytime feasts and festivities. The Eid festival falls in the middle of May this year.
