The Government of Pakistan has disbursed Rs. 1.2 billion in the first phase of fuel relief payments under the PM Fuel Package 2026, benefiting more than 32,000 individuals across the country.
The payments were made digitally through Easypaisa, allowing funds to be transferred quickly and securely to eligible beneficiaries. The initial phase covers operators of buses, trucks, long-haul vehicles, and delivery vans.
Officials said the use of a digital wallet ensures transparency and efficiency, reducing reliance on traditional cash-based systems while enabling real-time transfers directly to recipients.
According to the announcement, Easypaisa is the first platform facilitating these payments for transport operators. The next phase of the program is expected to expand coverage to include tank lorries, buses, and motorcycle users.
Speaking on the initiative, Easypaisa CEO Jahanzeb Khan said the platform is supporting the government in delivering timely financial assistance at scale.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized that digital payments are becoming a key part of Pakistan’s financial system, improving transparency, efficiency, and financial inclusion.
With over 59 million registered users and a widespread agent network, Easypaisa continues to play a major role in enabling large-scale government-to-person payment programs across both urban and rural areas.
