Government Favors Two Road Connectivity Projects in Sindh
Islamabad: According to news reports, the government has approved two new development projects totaling PKR 196.5 billion to enhance connectivity in the Eastern Corridor that connects the ports of Gwadar and Karachi.

A second proposal for the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway, with a price tag of PKR 191.47 billion, has also been approved.
The permissions were given during a meeting that was presided over by Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. During the meeting, Khan also suggested the M-6 project, which will cost PKR 92 billion, to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
The federal government will purchase the project’s property under a different project, whilst the original PC-1 will be built on the basis of a feasibility study completed in December 2019. This analysis suggested a 10-year cross-subsidy from the Sukkur–Multan highway.

The meeting also authorized the “Strengthening of Existing DHQs, and Selected THQs, RHCs, and BHUs” health initiative. At a cost of PKR 4.997 billion, this project will be made available in the districts of Awaran, Washuk, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Panjgur, Gwadar, and Kech.
