IMF to Resume Talks for Sixth Tranche by September End
On September 29, Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will begin discussions at the staff level for the delivery of the sixth tranche under the $6 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

The last day of Shaukat Tarin’s employment as federal finance minister as a non-elected individual appointed by the prime minister in accordance with Article 91(9) of the Constitution is October 17. Tarin will be in Washington from October 15 to October 17 for consultations with senior IMF officials.
According to the article, the fund has provided a list of topics to be reviewed, while the final approval will be made in Washington by the middle of next month.
On June 24, IMF spokesman Gerry Rice declined to comment on whether disbursements under this program had been halted.
