Government is Considering to Import 50,000 Tons of Sugar

According to official reports and data, the price of sugar on the global market is going down. Because of this, the government of Pakistan is thinking about putting out an international tender to import about 50,000 tonnes of sugar sweetener to keep the price of this sweetener within its official ongoing retail rates.

This proposal was also talked about at a meeting of the National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC), which was led by Hammad Azhar, the Minister of Finance, Revenue, and Industries.

The tender will be put out soon by the industries ministry, based on the price quotes. Before, when the prices were too high, the bids were just canceled.
