The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has made digital safety and artificial intelligence courses mandatory for private school and college students in Islamabad from Class 9 onwards.
The initiative aims to equip students with essential knowledge in modern AI and cybersecurity, helping them prepare for an increasingly digital academic and professional environment.
Under a directive issued by ICT Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA), all eligible students in the Islamabad Capital Territory must activate their training accounts through the official government skills portal by March 8, 2026.
While enrollment and account activation must be completed immediately, the ministry has allowed flexibility for completing the coursework. Students can finish the assigned modules during their summer vacations or after their final examinations, ensuring that regular academic activities are not disrupted.
School administrations have been instructed to urgently facilitate the registration process and ensure that every student from Grade 9 and above is enrolled, strengthening Pakistan’s efforts to build a digitally aware and cybersecurity-ready student population.
