According to a concise statement from the finance ministry, the price changes were made by the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), taking into account fluctuations in the international market.
In the previous review of fuel prices, petrol was reduced by Rs. 2.07 per liter, bringing it down to Rs. 247.03, while high-speed diesel saw a cut of Rs. 3.40 per liter, lowering it to Rs. 246.29.
This latest fuel price update has flashed concern among consumers, especially those dependent on diesel for transportation and industrial use.
The diesel price hike may lead to an increase in the cost of goods and services, impacting inflation. However, with the petrol price unchanged, many motorists will find some relief in maintaining current travel costs. Despite these adjustments, fuel prices remain a critical issue as they directly affect the economy and household budgets.
