The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is set to convene a crucial meeting on May 2, 2025, at the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss key digital initiatives aimed at enhancing services for overseas Pakistanis. The meeting will focus on the Pak-Emigrant Management Framework (PEMF) and the PakTok mobile application, with stakeholders expected to present technical updates and review progress on Phase II of the PEMF.
Representatives from the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BE&OE), and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will deliver detailed briefings on the technical documentation of APIs crucial for the integration of services across departments. The aim is to streamline digital interaction among government bodies and facilitate seamless service delivery to Pakistani expatriates.

In addition to the PEMF review, the council is expected to finalize proposed design amendments to the PakTok mobile application. The changes will address feedback and observations from the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), with a focus on improving user experience and expanding the range of services offered through the app.
The PakTok app, a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (MOPHRD), serves as a digital hub for overseas Pakistanis to access vital government services. The application supports OPF membership registration, provides access to welfare programs including assistance in recovering dues from foreign employers, and offers free transportation of deceased bodies back to their home addresses. It also includes financial aid options such as scholarships for students in OPF-run schools and colleges.
One of the standout features of the PakTok app is its 24/7 complaint management system, which allows users to log and resolve grievances in real time. The platform further ensures transparency by keeping the diaspora informed of OPF-led initiatives, government policies, and upcoming events.
This meeting marks a significant step in the government’s efforts to digitize and modernize services for overseas Pakistanis, aligning with broader goals of improved governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
