Utility Stores Start Giving Ramazan Relief Packages The federal government has decided to close down the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) to exit non-essential business operations. This was approved by the Secretary of Industries & Production during a Friday meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Industries and Production.

In response to Senator Saifullah Niazi’s question about the future of the Utility Stores, the Secretary clarified that plans are in place to reassign USC employees to other departments. He also mentioned that government subsidies to utility stores create one-sided competition in the market, which is another reason for the planned closure.
