The government has made the decision to include medical device manufacturing in the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative.
In keeping with larger digitisation initiatives, information that appeared on Wednesday indicates that medical device licensing and registration will also be made available online. The digitisation of medical equipment and pharmaceutical manufacturing was scheduled to be launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
It is anticipated that this digital transformation will immediately increase foreign investment in the industry.
About 90% of all medical gadgets are imported, making local production of these devices almost nonexistent.
Every year, stents, pacemakers, diagnostic kits, and other necessary equipment were imported at a cost of billions of rupees.
