During the review of the foreign funding portfolio, the Minister of Finance identified priority areas for financial and technical assistance. He emphasized the need to finance an agricultural program that includes the provision of commodity storage, cold storage and irrigation management to enhance infrastructure to increase agricultural productivity.
Tarin further ordered a focus on enhancing civil amenities such as drinking water supply, solid waste management and other similar facilities in underdeveloped areas.
He expressed the government’s strong commitment in socio-economic development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve a better and more sustainable future for the people of Pakistan. Jhagra informed the finance minister of KP’s commitment to streamlining wage and pension spending, which accounts for the largest share of the total budget. Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht briefed the Minister of Finance on the overall financial situation and upcoming financial considerations.
