Governor Issues Ordinance Restricting LDA’s Jurisdiction
Kasur, Nankana Sahib, and Sheikhupura are no longer under the jurisdiction of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), according to a recent news article. Punjab Governor Chaudhary Sarwar issued an ordinance to modify the LDA Act 1975.

According to reports, the ordinance was passed in response to a demand made by a number of provincial ministers, MPAs, and members of the general public.
The governor said in a statement to the media that the MPAs, ministers, and citizens of these districts had consistently demanded their exclusion from the LDA’s purview.
The governor also issued another edict calling for the creation of commercial courts in five Punjabi areas, including Lahore.

This ordinance provides for the transfer of commercial matters currently pending in existing courts to these new commercial courts. The matter will be decided by the new courts in 180 days.
