The Ministry of Religious Affairs has excellent news for those who are hoping to make the Hajj but are having trouble obtaining their passports.
In accordance with Dr. Attaur Rehman, Secretary of Religious Affairs, individuals who have not yet received their passports can apply for the Hajj using the tokens they were given when requesting the travel paperwork.
It is important to note that the inefficiency of the Directorate General Immigration & Passports (DGI&P) has resulted in lengthy delays for those applying for passports.
In response to reports regarding the delayed delivery, the directorate recently asserted that it is providing passports in accordance with standard procedure. It further stated that some people were deceiving the public about the length of time it was taking to print passports in an attempt to financially exploit them.
Hundreds of people, however, expressed dissatisfaction about not receiving their travel documents after applying for them months prior.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs had previously done away with the need for a Covid-19 immunization certificate in order to perform Hajj.
