The federal government has announced relief in electricity charges for agricultural tube wells and households consuming up to 300 units, providing much-needed financial relief to farmers and low-consumption consumers.
Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division), Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, revealed on Wednesday that the government has decided to reduce monthly fuel adjustment charges for these categories of electricity consumers.

According to a Power Division spokesperson, the benefit of reduced fuel adjustment charges was previously withdrawn for 300-unit consumers in June 2015, while agricultural tubewells lost this relief even earlier, in December 2010. To reinstate this adjustment, the Power Division has sent a formal request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The decision to waive fuel adjustment charges is aimed at easing financial pressure on farmers and households with limited electricity consumption, helping them manage their monthly expenses more efficiently.
With the implementation of this measure, electricity bills for agricultural tube wells and 300-unit domestic consumers are expected to decrease further, providing much-needed relief amid rising energy costs.
