Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said Pakistan will use 2,000 megawatts of electricity for Bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. This is part of the government’s plan to make Pakistan a big digital center in the region.
He said this is an important step to grow Pakistan’s digital economy. “This electricity is not just for crypto or AI—it’s for building a digital future for the country,” he explained.
The government will use extra electricity to run these tech centers. This will bring foreign investment, create many new jobs, and help the economy grow. The minister said, “Extra electricity will now bring money to the country.”

Many international companies want to invest in Pakistan’s digital market. Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, said Pakistan has a lot of potential. Around 40 million people in Pakistan already use digital assets, so the country can become a leader in crypto in South Asia.

Minister Aurangzeb said this plan will create thousands of jobs in construction, engineering, software, cybersecurity, and data work. This will help build Pakistan’s digital economy and give many people new job chances.
