Govt Increases TV and Radio Fee in Electricity Bills Immediately
The government’s intention to include radio fees alongside television costs in energy bills was discussed at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue today at Parliament House, which was presided over by Senator Saleem Mandviwala.

The committee was informed by representatives of the Finance Ministry that consumer invoices will henceforth come with a fixed fee of Rs. 50. According to them, a summary issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting promulgates the imposition of Rs. 35 PTV and Rs. 15 radio fees beginning in July.

According to the sources, the Senate Committee on Finance and Revenue recently recommended that the Ministry of Finance speed and complete these steps.
The apex committee was also informed that 35 billion rupees had been set aside for the distribution of subsidised food items at utility stores. Of the whole amount, Rs. 5 billion, according to officials, has been set aside for the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package.
