A high-risk advisory has been released by the federal authorities for users of the well-known web browser Google Chrome.
As per the cabinet division’s advisory, there exist vulnerabilities in specific Google Chrome browser versions that may enable threat actors to compromise a computer or device.
Users may be in grave danger as a result of Google Chrome’s vulnerabilities. If used, the vulnerabilities could result in Remote Code Execution (RCE) via HTML sites and DDoS attacks.
As per the alert, Google has patched a major vulnerability (CVE-2023-4863), which is a buffer overflow in the WebP code library, for its Chrome browser in the most recent software version. Version 116.05845.187.188 of the upgraded Google Chrome is available for Windows and Mac OS X systems. Version 116.05845.187.188 is accessible for Linux users.

Users of Google Chrome are advised to update to the most recent versions from official shops. The cabinet division has forwarded the advisory to the federal and provincial governments, requesting that they guarantee that protective measures are taken and that the information is shared with relevant ministries, organizations, and agencies.
