The lower reading shall be approved if readings are submitted by the meter reader and the customer. Any subsequent readings by the meter reader will be disregarded if the customer submits on time. The software, which is accessible in five languages, strives to guarantee transparency, particularly for customers who qualify for subsidies.

According to Power Minister Awais Leghari, the app would give users more control over the meter reading process, which will help reduce complaints and stop overbilling.

The Prime Minister has announced the removal of the Rs. 35 PTV cost from power bills and ordered the app to be implemented nationally.

He highlighted current reforms in the electricity industry, such as changes to DISCO boards, merit-based appointments, and measures to tackle circular debt, and said that power theft costs Pakistan Rs. 500 billion a year.
