Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that petrol and diesel prices will remain unchanged for another week.

Petrol will continue to be available at Rs. 321.17 per litre, while high-speed diesel will remain at Rs. 335.86 per litre, effective from Saturday, March 27, 2026.

The Petroleum Division had proposed a significant increase, suggesting a hike of Rs. 95 per litre for petrol and Rs. 203 per litre for diesel. However, the prime minister rejected the recommendation.

To keep prices stable, the government will provide a subsidy of around Rs. 56 billion.

Officials said that since the introduction of weekly price adjustments, the government has provided a total subsidy of Rs. 125 billion to support consumers.

Last week, fuel prices were also kept unchanged as part of relief measures ahead of Eid, despite ongoing trade disruptions linked to tensions in the Gulf region.

In recent fuel price reviews, prices have been increased in three out of the last five revisions.
