The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is a key financial aid program for low-income families in Pakistan.

  • For the next fiscal year, Rs716 billion is allocated for BISP.
  • There’s a proposal to increase this budget by up to 20% to fight rising inflation and improve support.
  • From January 2026, monthly cash transfers to beneficiaries will rise by Rs 1,000.
  • Quarterly stipends will increase from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500.
  • Stipends will keep adjusting with inflation to protect purchasing power.
  • The program aims to cover 10 million families; so far, 700,000 new families have been added this year.
