The country’s gold smuggling will be heavily prosecuted by the interim administration.
According to a report in Business Recorder, the interim administration has come up with a strategy that will target people who smuggle gold.
According to the article, the government has also chosen to take action to include precious metal traders in the tax system. Not only this, but the plan also calls for the implementation of a computerized system for the sale and purchase of gold.

The regulatory measures will benefit gold buyers in addition to assisting the government in raising more tax revenue.
In terms of the campaign against the smuggling of gold, law enforcement agencies will start their campaign soon. The fight against the smuggling of the precious metal will be led by a task team made up of representatives from law enforcement and intelligence institutions.
According to the article, the task team has already compiled a list of gold traffickers who will face legal action.
It is important to note that last week saw the largest weekly drop in gold prices, with prices falling by around Rs. 30,000 per tola. The costs have just increased, though.
