The government has decided to charge the same Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for all electricity users in Pakistan, including K-Electric.

From June 2025 (billed in August 2025), K-Electric customers will pay the same FCA as other state-owned power companies. If K-Electric’s costs are higher, the difference will be covered through government subsidies.

The plan follows the National Electricity Policy 2021, which calls for uniform tariffs across the country. The Energy Ministry has asked the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to direct NEPRA to enforce the new rules.

The Finance Division supports the plan but says it should not put any extra burden on the government.
