Gwadar: A news source on December 20 stated that the opening of the Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Gwadar is a significant milestone for the healthcare industry in the region and represents a cooperative effort under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The news source said that Adnan Khan, a socio-economic development specialist with the Pak-China Economic Corridor Centre of Excellence, provided insight into future CPEC initiatives, including the revolutionary Green Corridor, Digital Corridor, and Health Corridor. The main goal of these initiatives is to modernize Pakistan’s healthcare system in order to usher in a new age of progress in the country.

The hospital, which was established on December 4 and was given a total of USD 100 million by the Chinese government, represents the strong relationship between China and Pakistan. The 300-bed hospital was constructed on 68 acres as part of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Business Plan. Specialist Khan describes in detail the six blocks that make up the hospital: the medical, residential, nursing, paramedical institution, medical college, and central laboratory. Each of these blocks is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, facilities, and equipment that demonstrate a comprehensive approach to healthcare.
In addition, Specialist Khan emphasizes that the hospital would greatly reduce the necessity for locals to go far for specialized medical care. It is anticipated that an entire range of services, from basic care to specialist therapies, would significantly enhance the region’s overall health results.
