Islamabad: A Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority spokesman stated that the new Gwadar International Airport, which will cost Rs51 billion to build, will open for business in August.

This will be funded by a Rs. 34 billion grant from China. In 2023, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore underwent a major renovation and rebuild at a cost of Rs18.5 billion, enabling the use of Category F aircraft.

The current Walton Airport will be moved to the Muridke Airport site once it is completed in 2024. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in the new year.

Jinnah International Airport in Karachi will make upgrades to its inner and exterior roads in order to increase passenger flow and lessen traffic.

At the Karachi International Airport, plans are to construct an air traffic control tower and a fire station. The new-grade fleet airport being built at Dera Ismail Khan will start development at a separate location.

Sukkur airport is set to undergo both expansion and enhancement. Its function is to assist Karachi Jinnah Airport’s main runway, which is built to handle F-category aircraft.

In two and a half years, Allama Iqbal Airport’s terminal structure and extension mission will be finished.
