Gwadar New Airport to be Operational in September 2023
The Secretary Aviation division informed the Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Thursday that New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) was on schedule and would be completely operational by September 2023.

Additionally, the Gwadar Port Authority is engaging with NAVTTC, TEVTA, and the Chinese to develop a comprehensive curriculum for the institute.
The committee commented that the curriculum for the institute should be designed so that there is no gap between the skills supplied and those required, considering the present and the future.
The Committee noted that China’s $1 billion funding for socioeconomic development projects under the CPEC framework should be efficiently utilized by adding projects with strong social benefits and high exposure.

The Committee directed the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives to create a comprehensive framework by which provinces may select projects with the potential for value addition and a genuine socioeconomic development sense.
