Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has said that having more than one marriage does not prevent men from engaging in extramarital affairs, adding that unfaithfulness is a personal habit rather than a marital issue. He made the remarks during a podcast where he discussed religion, relationships, and his personal life.
Abbasi explained that simply marrying multiple times does not change a person’s character. He said that a man who is inclined toward cheating will continue the behavior even if he has four wives. According to him, the act of pursuing others outside marriage is a major sin and must not be linked with the concept of polygamy in Islam.
He stated that Islam allows polygamy only under strict conditions, especially the requirement of fairness and justice among wives. He added that the Quran itself says that it is better for a man to marry only one if he cannot ensure justice.
Abbasi stressed that using multiple marriages as an excuse to avoid cheating is a flawed approach. He said the issue lies within a person’s character and moral discipline, not in how many spouses they have.
He warned that infidelity is considered a severe sin in Islam, and those involved must seek repentance. Abbasi urged that instead of justifying such behavior, individuals should work on improving their moral values.
