Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf stirred debate during Sunday’s Asia Cup clash against India after responding to taunts from Indian fans with a symbolic gesture.

When spectators attempted to troll him, Rauf raised six fingers, signaling “six-zero,” a reminder of Pakistan’s defense history. The gesture referred to a past military encounter where Pakistan Air Force pilots reportedly shot down six Indian fighter jets. The moment, known as Marka-e-Haq, is celebrated in Pakistan as a major victory and was once described by Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed as a “six-zero” triumph.

The gesture quickly spread on social media, sparking reactions from both sporting and political circles. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif openly supported the cricketer. Posting on X, he wrote that while cricket matches will continue, India will never forget “6-0,” and the world, too, will remember it. His comments reinforced the symbolism behind Rauf’s actions and turned it into a trending discussion online.

Meanwhile, on the field, India secured a strong win. Abhishek Sharma smashed 74 runs off just 39 balls, while Shubman Gill added 47 from 28 deliveries, guiding India to a six-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India had chosen to bowl first after winning the toss, and their batting performance sealed the match.
