HBL Leads in Agricultural Finance with Record-Breaking Insurance Payout to Farmers

HBL has issued the largest-ever payout of over PKR 10 million under the Area Yield Index Insurance (AYII) program, benefiting farmers across Balochistan and Sindh. This milestone highlights the bank’s commitment to agricultural development and financial inclusion, offering much-needed relief to farmers facing losses due to adverse weather and other agricultural risks.

The AYII program is an innovative insurance solution tailored to safeguard farmers against a wide range of threats such as windstorms, frost, excessive rainfall, heat waves, hail, floods, droughts, and pest infestations. By offering financial protection, the program helps farmers stabilize their incomes, reduce vulnerability to climate-related disruptions, and continue contributing to Pakistan’s agricultural productivity.

Aamir Kureshi, Head of Products, Transactional Services and Solution Delivery at HBL, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that this payout demonstrates the bank’s resolve to help farmers recover from environmental and natural calamities. He reiterated HBL’s focus on strengthening the agricultural sector, which plays a critical role in Pakistan’s economic stability.

This payout under the AYII program is a significant step in HBL’s broader Agri Financing strategy, aiming to build a resilient farming community.
