Here Are the Illegal Housing Societies in All Zones of Islamabad
The proliferation of illegal housing societies in Islamabad has been facilitated by the incompetence of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). Currently, there are 149 such societies, causing financial losses for citizens while the CDA remains passive in addressing the issue. Among the different zones in Islamabad, Zone-IV has the highest concentration with 85 illegal housing societies, followed by 20 in Zone-I, 7 in Zone-II, 7 in Zone-III, and 30 in Zone-V.

These societies are actively involved in the unauthorized sale and marketing of plots. Despite the CDA issuing notices to these unlawful societies, their numbers continue to grow. It has been revealed that none of the 149 societies have obtained the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC), even though they received approval for their layout plans.

CDA officials emphasize that these societies can only conduct transactions once their layout plans are approved and they obtain the NOC. To prevent falling victim to illegal activities, the CDA authorities have taken the step of informing the public through public notices, urging individuals to thoroughly verify the status of any housing society before engaging in the buying or selling of plots.
It is important to understand that the CDA does not assume responsibility for any losses incurred as a result of dealing with these illegal housing societies.
