Here Are the Top Ten Most Social Media-Obsessed Cities in UK
According to a new survey, Norwich is the UK city where people are most addicted to social media. The city that showed the least interest in social media was Wakefield, which trailed Wrexham and Liverpool in the rankings.
A team of entertainment industry experts called PlayOJO did some data analysis to see which city has the highest social media activity. It examined Google queries made during the previous year for well-known platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
Norwich, a city of over 143,000 people, was found to be the most social media-obsessed city in the UK, with over 215,000 searches per 100,000 residents.

With approximately 209,000 searches per 100,000 of its 65,000 residents, Wrexham came in second. With more than 195,000 searches per 100,000 of its 484,000 residents, Liverpool took third place. Bath and Manchester came in fourth and fifth, with 186,000 and 185,000 searches per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively.
With slightly over 14,000 searches per 100,000 individuals, Wakefield looks to be the area with the lowest interest in social media. Less than 70,000 searches per 100,000 residents were recorded in Winchester, Canterbury, Lancaster, and Doncaster.
With 131,000 searches per 100,000 people, London, the most populated city in the UK, holds the 25th position on the list. With 171,000 searches per 100,000 residents, Birmingham, which has a population of over 1.1 million, comes in tenth.

The popularity of various platforms was also investigated in the study. Blackpool has a significant Facebook following, Brighton has a large Instagram following, and Cambridge inhabitants are most likely to utilise LinkedIn and Reddit.
Winchester prefers Pinterest, whilst Bradford prefers Snapchat and TikTok. The city with the most YouTube addicts is Newport, whereas Glasgow has the most Twitter users.
Overall, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are the most frequently searched social media platforms in the UK.
