A day after the Senate Standing Committee on Finance expressed alarm over the worrying spread of counterfeit notes, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released a comprehensive explanation video on how to spot a fake Rs. 5,000 note.
The video, which SBP originally posted on YouTube in 2018, provides comprehensive guidance on comprehending the important security characteristics of the Rs. 5,000 note and how to spot a fake one.
According to the central bank, the Pakistani flag is produced on the Rs. 5,000 note using optically changeable magnetic ink.
Those who are blind or visually challenged receive higher marks.
On the left side of the note, where the legal value may be seen when examined in enough light, there is a protective thread (silver dashes).
When the note is exposed to ultraviolet light, microscopic fibers and designs in a lemon-green color may be etched throughout the paper.
