Hyderabad Kingsmen Remain Winless in PSL 11 After Close Match Against Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi beat Hyderabad Kingsmen by four wickets in PSL 11 clash

Peshawar Zalmi secured their second win of PSL 11 after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by four wickets at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

Chasing a target of 146, Zalmi reached the total in the final over despite losing wickets at regular intervals. The innings was guided by Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis, while Iftikhar Ahmed finished the match with a calm, unbeaten knock.

Zalmi lost Mohammad Haris early after a quick 11 off six balls. Babar and Mendis then built a steady partnership to stabilise the chase. Mendis scored 27 off 23 deliveries before being dismissed, giving Hyderabad a much-needed breakthrough.

Michael Bracewell contributed 25 runs and supported Babar with another important stand. Babar looked in control throughout his innings, scoring 43 off 37 balls with six boundaries before getting out.

The match became tense towards the end as Hyderabad picked up quick wickets. With 14 runs needed in the final over, Iftikhar Ahmed held his nerve and scored an unbeaten 15, while Aamer Jamal supported him to take Zalmi across the line.

Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 145 in 18.2 overs after failing to build on a solid start.

Maaz Sadaqat and Saim Ayub provided early momentum, but the innings collapsed after Iftikhar Ahmed’s breakthrough spell. He removed Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, and Usman Khan in quick succession, putting Hyderabad under pressure.

Marnus Labuschagne and Kusal Perera then tried to rebuild the innings with a useful partnership. Labuschagne scored 27, while Perera led the scoring with 58 off 35 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

However, Sufiyan Muqeem turned the game again with a strong spell, removing key batters in the later stages. He dismissed Labuschagne and later returned to take the wickets of Irfan Khan Niazi, Perera, and Maheesh Theekshana.

Iftikhar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem were the standout performers for Zalmi, picking up four wickets each and restricting Hyderabad below 150.
