According to a September 11 news source, the president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, has asked the government to significantly lower taxes on the real estate and construction industries.
The ICCI President Bakhtawari stated, according to the specifics, that tax reductions would be able to draw close to USD 6 billion in foreign investment in a short amount of time, giving Pakistan’s economy a much-needed boost.

The president of the ICCI remarked that heavy taxation had hindered the real estate sector’s capacity to draw foreign remittances and investments as the primary guest at a banquet held in his honor. Foreign remittances have significantly decreased as a result of this tendency, leaving a worrisome gap.
In order to overcome all those inadequacies and challenges, Bakhtawari advised the government to streamline the sector’s levies. He suggested eliminating taxes on supposed income from immovable property and creating an environment that would revitalize the industry and, in turn, spur the expansion of the nation’s economy.
