IHC Orders Action Against PAF & Navy at Margalla Hills
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) to take action against Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force for incursions into Margalla Hills National Park.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Athar Minallah voiced concern with the IWMB’s poor progress and enquired about measures taken against encroachments.
“According to claims in the media, the Navy and Air Force have encroached upon the National Park. What measures have been taken against them?” he asked. IWMB Chairperson Raina Saeed Khan responded that the department did not take action because it lacked the authority to do so. The Chief Justice then inquired whether the wildlife agency had even issued notices to the Pakistan Navy and Air Force for infractions.

The IWMB attorney, Danial Aziz, informed the court that Section 29 of the 1979 Islamabad Wildlife Ordinance permits the wildlife management board to detain and penalize trespassers. The court adjourned the hearing until August 27 after ordering the Wildlife Management Board to take proper steps.
