Sania Ashfaq, the former wife of Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim, has said that the involvement of a third person was the main reason behind the end of their marriage, sharing an emotional statement on social media.
In a detailed message posted on Instagram, Sania responded to a recent statement by Imad Wasim and spoke openly about the pain she says she has endured. She said her family was broken and her children were left without their father, adding that she is a mother of three, including a five-month-old baby who, according to her, has not yet been held by his father.
“I am writing this from a place of deep pain. My home has been broken, and my children have been left without their father,” she wrote, adding that her silence should not be taken as weakness.
Sania explained that, like many marriages, theirs went through difficulties but continued to exist. She said she remained committed as a wife and mother and made genuine efforts to save the family. However, she claimed that the marriage finally collapsed due to the involvement of a third party who intended to marry her husband.
“What ultimately ended this marriage was the involvement of a third party, whose intention was to marry my husband, which became the final blow to an already struggling union,” she stated.
She further alleged that after this, she went through emotional distress, mistreatment, abortion, and abandonment while she was pregnant, saying she chose patience for the sake of her children and family dignity.
Sania also said the divorce process is still legally disputed and under scrutiny, adding that the truth would come out through proper legal channels. She warned that any attempt to silence or threaten her would be met with legal action.
Quoting verses from the Holy Quran, she said that Allah is aware of injustice and emphasised that she is speaking not out of revenge but to stand for truth.
“I speak today not out of vengeance, but out of truth, for myself, for my children, and for every woman who was told to endure in silence,” she concluded.
So far, Imad Wasim has not publicly responded to Sania Ashfaq’s latest statement.
