According to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, the sons of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), will be allowed entry into Pakistan as long as they comply with the law.
During an exclusive appearance on Samaa TV’s “Nadeem Malik Live” program, Sanaullah stated that he was in favor of Imran Khan’s kids getting involved in national politics. He reaffirmed their entitlement to carry on their father’s political heritage.
“They have frequently criticized us for playing hereditary politics,” he continued. They now enjoy the same privilege. Since they are British nationals, they ought to seek for a visa to Pakistan. They won’t be stopped if they adhere to all legal standards.
He said that the law gives them the right to see their father if that is their intention. But if they want to be in charge of a political movement, it has to be nonviolent. “They will have to deal with the law if the movement turns violent,” he stated.
He went on to say that he didn’t think they would visit Pakistan. If they do, they won’t participate in politics but might go see their father.
Rana Sanaullah called for the creation of a five- to ten-year strategy in order to address the problem of the recent heavy rainfall. He went on to say that the Planning Division must take a calculated approach to the growth of metropolitan regions. “Ahsan Iqbal and I will talk. Even wealthy nations experience natural disasters like flooding. Natural disasters are not common in our area, but the last three days have witnessed exceptionally high levels of rain,” he remarked.
In addition to acknowledging that similar weather patterns would recur annually, he emphasized the importance of drainage systems in downstream settlements.
Other provinces were also taking preventative measures, Sanaullah said, praising Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for personally keeping an eye on the issue. He urged WASA and other organizations to work with the Clean Punjab project. The prime minister gave directives in accordance with his earlier visit to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Regarding politics, Rana Sanaullah made it clear that the PTI and the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) are not negotiating. “The prime minister had extended invitations for dialogue on three occasions, but the opposition failed to respond positively,” he said.
The prime minister volunteered to meet with the PTI leadership in the Speaker’s chamber and was willing to go in person, he continued, even during difficult political times.
